If I meet a girl I like, I try to be friendly with her, getting to know her (and her to know me) a bit. If there's anything at all that clicks, I ask her out. I always run the risk of being shot down or friendzoned, but it's a risk worth running.

Like others have said, women are made to understand before their first period that many people will want to take advantage of them. My bf was pretty plain too, he's smart and is great with numbers, he plays the guitar, and above all he's funny.
