I honestly don't know what to do. My guess is that I'm just gonna have to save up the money again.
Put money aside for a better car. Or find a family member who could fix way cheaper for you. Repairs are gonna add up and the money can just go to a better car. Look at other forms of transportation also.
Part of owning a car is having the income to repair it and maintain it.
Also $800 seems really high, I got my clutch plate replaced for $700 and that involves taking the whole engine block out.
A new car is cheaper in the long run, if you keep it for over ten years. Buy a small car with a small engine that is cheap to run. No optional extras. None. Until you have cash saved up for it, just take the bus.
If you are going to operate an old car (anything over 15 years is old) then you need to learn to fix it yourself. Get a repair manual and some good tools.
