Uni is one of the biggest predictors for class placement. When you get a degree, you're almost CERTAINLY able to get a middle class job no problem. Trades might be good for guys, but there's a lot of discrimination towards girls in those jobs, and it's probably not the best choice if she wants to excel.

Apply for every scholarship you can find, even the general ones not directly associated with your school, for starters. Secondly, see your school's financial office to see if you can apply for any sort of reduced/free meal plan program.
When my sister was in school, she went to an extremely expensive school and it got to the point where she couldn't afford to eat anymore and was talking to the schools financial office about how she might need to drop out because she was only eating 1 meal a day. They gave her a bunch of free meal vouchers instead. Trust me, they would much rather give you what probably costs them 100 bucks worth of free food a semester than lose the thousands of dollars you pay them in tuition by dropping out.

You'll want to get a job, it'll be tough to juggle but power through. At the end of the day though, put school first. Because there's no point in spending thousands of dollars going to school just to fail your classes and needing to retake them because you cared more about some shitty min wage part time job. If your grades are slipping, cut back your hours and make up the money anywhere you can,

Be thrifty as possible. Do not buy clothes unless you physically cannot fit into anything you already own. People spend way too much fucking money on clothes. Cut coupons, only buy shit on sale. The only major expenses you should have every month is rent and bills, possibly gas. But obvs utilize public transport and walk/bike whenever possible.

It will be a hard sell for any employer to hire you now just to have you leave in a month, so you'd probably just need to bite the bullet and see if you can get any odd jobs like offer to do your neighbors yardwork or babysit or tutor, etc for some extra cash while you wait.

You might as well start applying for work in the town you're going to now though. Try and line something up before you get there. Look up companies that pay above minimum too. Only one I remember was costco, though they are very competitive because of it so it's hard to land a job there.
