Is college really just a hotbed of casual sex, flings and meaningless physicality?
I'm a virgin, but I've dated 4 girls in high school and though short-lived the relationships were all very important to me. I'm going to university this upcoming fall, and all my family is glad I'm single, being very suggestive about how college is full of easy sex with a lot of different people. But I don't want that. I want to find maybe a few (if not just one) girls who have similar ideals to me whom I can really connect with, like real people, not sex-crazed animals. Not necessarily for a lifelong commitment, but I don't find any meaningful value from one night stands.
Is this a far off dream? Am I being unrealistic, and should I just dive into college hookup culture?

This may come as a surprise, but there are tons of people in college, and they're not all the same.

I had 1 relationship in college and it lasted 3 years, total monogamy. No parties, nothing. Sex crazed sluts will be there in ample abundance but decent girls will be there too

Not really, it definitely exists but it's not everyone. I'm a virgin in college and I'm pretty good looking too. Some people want it some don't. I actually think college has a lot more decent people overall. It's just hard to wrap your head around how some are drugged up at parties all the time and others spend all day studying and talking with friends.
