We had some ups and downs. He had some anger issues and our fights got pretty bad. When we weren't fighting it was awesome. Also I kind of only told people bad things about him while we were together...Apparently he has dealt with his issues and he now has a stable job and changed his life. Lost weight, reaching his goals, job, has a place. Before he was living with his parents, no job and didn't do much.

If you were meant for each other he wouldn't be your ex. Also by your own admission, he abused you. However strong your feelings may be, the rational thing to do is walk away and leave it alone.
