21 year old college student here.
I’ve applied to many wagecuck positions around my town (in the US) but received no phone call yet. However, some lady told my mother they are opening a position at their local company. The job title is “Database support specialist”. I’m currently pursuing a Computer Science degree but I’ve never had any experience with databases. That lady mentioned that no experience is required but I don’t trust that statement. The job description says:
>Duties include matching lists from conference leads, partners and clients to subscriber lists, pulling information from data resources contracted by %company_name% and preparing reports and email lists.
And some of the key responsibilities:
>Assist in matching lists from conference leads to hospital sites in customer database
>Work with 3rd party lists (ad sales, partners) to customer database; including list matches and import of data.
Etc.
It also mentions a desired experience of using Filemaker Pro, so I assume they primarily use this software for databases.
I don’t what should I do. I understand what all this stuff means generally but not specifically and I’m deeply dreadful that even if I get hired by some miracle, I won’t be able to perform well and I don’t know If they provide training (if I even need that at all).

For any job, NEVER READ THE REQUIREMENTS.
If you are
A: Honest in your resume
B: They will hire you BASED on your resume, not what they SAY you should already understand and what EXPERIENCE they want you to have.
If they hire you, and you were honest in your resume, and they expect MORE than that from you,
just say "wtf if I said I was only good at eating cheetos why did you think I could eat cheetos and oritios AT THE SAME TIME?!?!"

Do you think I could do so by emailing that lady (she works at HR there or something)? I mean, would it be ethical to ask anything before sending a cover letter and resume? I'm sorry... I have little experience interacting with people.
