I'm in pretty much the same situation. The guy can go fuck himself. I don't think either of us two has a chance with her, or if anything HE does more than I do, even though he always acts like a depressed fuck. I have depression ironically but I manage to hide it around people. Either way I want to be with her way more than I want to be friends with him.

Also I think friendships are replaceable, as long as you aren't very close friends. So I don't care.
