Ive been laying in bed trying to sleep for the past 3 and a half hours, its currently 3:41 were in at and I can't barely keep my eyes closed. What the fuck should I do to prevent this from ever happening again?
Take melatonin, sleeping pills and alcohol together. They work synergistically, as long as you consume enough of each. You will never have this problem again.
Exercise. Vigorously.
If that doesn't work, whistle some songs that you like.
Both of these make me fall asleep in under 30 minutes.

Melatonin does not work as a sleep aid. It basically resets your internal clock, but it does absolutely nothing to actually make you feel tired.
If for whatever reason your sleep schedule is completely bollocksed and you go to sleep at 4 in the morning and wake up at noon, by all means use melatonin for a week so that your body readjusts to a normal sleep cycle.
