so how long should one be working in a company without getting promoted or getting a job more relevant to your degree until you can say its a dead end and should look for work at another company?
Until your frustration starts impacting your efficiency. But honestly there's nothing wrong with looking for better opportunities when you're already employed
in todays work climate you should really be changing up jobs every 18 months if you're ambitious

Probably not going to happen, I'm already the technician with the highest productivity BECAUSE I hate this job and think its beneath me.
