Hey goys. Need some advice in regards to education/career stuff.
I hate college. I've switched majors twice now and took a semester off and tried to do some soul-searching or whatever but nothing worked. It's looking like I won't be getting my degree until I'm about 24 (I'm 21 now). Unfortunately, the degree would be useless on its own, as my originial plan was to go to law school. However, that would set me back to not beginning my career until I'm 27.
My dilemma is this: if I don't go to law school, I'll probably be poor, jobless, and struggling to make ends meet, but at least I will possibly be moving on with my life out of being a manchild. If I DO go to law school, I will be pretty much guaranteed a decent position and living due to my parents' connections, but will probably feel even more left behind by the world. What do?
I know it's kind of a first world/spoiled person problem, but does nobody have any advice?

Do you mean that youd feel like you didnt earn it?

Yes that's part of it. Also, I would feel like I was entering the "real world" kinda late in life, and I don't know if I want to continue to be dependent on my parents until I'm 27. But on the other hand, I'm scared that if I don't go to law school, I won't be able to make any money to support myself and will end up dependent on them anyway

Do NOT assume that this is going to happen. A lot can happen in 6 years, don't be a naive moron.

That's fair. Although, I'd be much better off then I would with just a political science meme degree. One of my parents is a judge and I know the heads of a majority of nearby firms on a first name basis. I'm in the South, and family connections are big around here

OP!! OP!! Its quite easy to be a minimalist! Is it that youd be ashamed to work a burger joint? Why not go to a trade school instead?

I'm not very good at life and I worry about not having money as a safety net; the trades don't look to make very much from what I've seen on the BLS info. Also, lots of tradespeople seem to be struggling in life...
Join the military and stay in for 20 years. They give you free food and housing, while you get to keep and save all the money you've made. After 20 years, you will have over a million dollars and be able to retire. At the age of 45, you can use your million dollars to buy a decent house and car, and your pension benefits will pay for food and travel. You'll also have a lot of cool stories to tell, and people will revere you.

I can't join the military, actually. Mental health and whatnot
>>18428787
Hmm. Since you claim you have mental health issues maybe being a counselor can help?

I've looked into it, and it looks the median wage for a counselor is barely enough to afford rent on a two-bedroom home, let alone owning a home. It doesn't seem like a smart career path...

I don't think you're smart enough for law school.

Why? I scored a 34 on my ACT twice...
