Going back to college at 25 means you get your degree at 29. SO basically you'll enter the job force at the bottom of the ladder when you're 30.
I guess it's better than not having a degree but understand that you're behind the career curve. I did pretty good with an associates degree (2 year) in accounting but didn't get my BS until I was 40.

That's not a big deal outside the US and bongland

Come on I have a few years of experience in a true job I don't see it as "beginning again" but expanding my possibilities.
Up
>pretty good job as programmer
>want to get a degree in finance/accounting
Why? Coming from someone with a degree in finance and banking and worked in auditing (which is mostly accounting) that sounds like a downgrade unless you want a very specific job that involves writing software for financial institutions or something.
I mean if it's free you might as well get a degree, but I don't get why you would get one in that field. Your age won't matter that much, I had people over 30 in my classes in college and they did fine, both socially and academically. But you should be sure you're actually interested in the field you're going to study.

I have the feeling that the poos in loos will eventually take over the programming industry so I want to be prepared with something versatile such as finances or accounting.
You should work in fintech.

Yes do it. Your programming skills is a good with such a degree.

You will be far from alone. College isn't just for 18 year olds anymore, and chances are that at least 25% of the undergrads in any university will be your age or older. And some colleges/programs will give you credit for life experience, shortening the process.

Yeah this. I started my degree at 27, I'll be 31 when i finish. I'm also in line to get a 1:1 pass.
Older means more focused. I look at some of my classmates and I think, "the world is going to eat you alive".
My age and experience has aided me in getting a paid internship, and any graduate program will pay more than the shit tier wage I used to make cheffing.
Go for it. It is never too late to improve yourself, regardless of whether that's education or something else.
