Can someone give me a quick run down of how to do follow-up calls for job applications?
Like: when do I call? a few days later or a week later?
What do I say on the phone?
Is it acceptable to make several follow-up calls if I don't get a clear answer?
Is it ever inappropriate to make a follow up call?
I think follow up emails are more popular.

are you shitting me

you're talking about a follow up to an interview at a white collar (ie, not retail) opening?
yes, emails are more popular
>>18408155
oh, no, talking about unskilled/entry-level jobs. Should have specified. I never get a response, even from basic places like taco bell.
>>18408157
out of curiosity, why do you want to work at taco bell?
>>18408163
nobody WANTS to work at taco bell. OP is probably just applying literally everywhere

exactly what this guy said >>18408166

If you are applying for jobs on the internet through the company's websites using what is known as an applicant tracking system, unless a recruiter calls you back for a phone screen, don't bother to call or email them. You'll most likely get ignored. Calling them will most of the time do nothing to improve your odds. If they call you for a phone screen, ask them about the process and when is it appropriate to contact them. You still may not hear anything back but generally it will be by email. If you have an in person interview, the same thing applies. Again, you should hear back but may not. Harassing the recruiter will not get you anywhere.

so, you're applying to do things you dont want to do?
its no wonder you're not getting anywhere

All OP wants is probably just a job dude give him a break

so what the fuck does it take to get a minimum wage job? I've been doing what you said for 5 months and my parents are going to kick me out if I don't find something. They keep telling me I need to make follow up calls to prove to the employer I'm worth it or whatever.
