Do what's called a "Consumer Proposal" go to a debt counselor, make sure they are approved by the Canadian Government, they'll file all the paperwork for you

You'll end up paying like $50 to $200 per month.

It affects your credit rating so you start rebuilding it right away, you can get a loan at a bank for say $2000, in that account you have prepaid payment going back to the loan let's say $200 per moths, you never touch the capital, in 10 months your credit is totally improved almost like before

Get a prepaid credit card, if you need to get stuff on the net or for whatever reason

Not OP, but I'm from Toronto.
It's mostly a combination of leftist retards with no sense of financial responsibility (as >>18393370 pointed out), our expensive housing markets, and our high tax rates.
