How long is the honeymoon phase in an average relationship? And how can you tell it's starting to subside & turning into a standard relationship?

You feel different?
stupid question
this is far to subjective to have a real answer
for example, ive had a relationship where it lasted ~3 months
i've had one where its lasted more than a year....

Up to a year on average according to studies.
>how can you tell
Bitch dumb question. You can tell.
Theres a chemical shift in your body. You feel less of the new love high from extreme dopamine and seratonin and you feel a more normalised stable contentment and comfort and pair bond given by oxytocin.
As in you feel pretty much normal except youre attached to the other person.
A few months to a year.
>And how can you tell it's starting to subside & turning into a standard relationship?
When it's not so much about discovering the person anymore and more about what you share/do with the person.
At the beginning, you're all nervous and thrilled that this hot person is into you. Once that wears away, you'll probably feel like you know the person and won't have as much fun automatically.

The term honeymoon phase is used to describe the new fresh feelings of love and excitement that occur after marriage, but are applied to new relationships as well. The only difference being that during an actual honeymoon, you and your partner have built up enough time and comfort that this new, uncharted phase of life brings you both together in ways that the everyday relationship does not. In other words, you're not in the honeymoon phase. You're in the puppy love phase. Where everything is new and simple and rose colored because you know nothing about each other and are learning. That can last as long as it takes for your relationship to deepen.

three months seems to be a consensus but it realyl does vary.
as for how to tell, only you can tell. its not an 'on or off' switch as it may sound. really its just feelings fade out and become less extreme.
