I've worked at two other Kumon centers and I always did really good work. She could even call and ask the people themselves. I help contribute to the positive statistics and helped the kids move onto the next level.

It's just annoying how she is letting me go for small things.

So I went to the Kumon to pick up my paycheck and to figure out why I got fired.

So the main reason why I got fired was because I graded way too fast. A kid got a few problems wrong but I counted them right because I was grading too fast.

It was a really silly mistake on my part and I owned up to it. This mistake has happened before at the other Kumon's I worked at. It’s literally not a big deal. My bosses at those places would just make fun of me for being so dumb and tell me to pace myself while grading.

The lady at this center got really emotional with me and upset. She said that she feels like I took her for granted because she was trying to help me out and I graded a worksheet the wrong way.

I totally understand where she was coming from but at the same time, this is a really easy thing to fix. I mean, just tell me to pace myself and I would have done that.

Like just tell me what I’m doing wrong so that I can fix my mistakes and move on.

I think I did learn a lesson from this. At the same time, I really hate that this lady thinks I’m a shitty person when I know I’m not. I know that I didn’t make this mistake on purpose. It was an honest mistake but I didn’t even get a chance to defend myself because she would have gotten mad at me and would think I was accusing her of being wrong.

Maybe I’m just better off not working with people like that.

It's a common mistake though. There are a lot of times where we have a rush of work coming in and we have to get it graded as quick as we can so that we can all leave. It's a common mistake and everyone does this. She just took it very seriously.
