Just put it in your bed and sleep with it. I've slept with a plush for years and my mom hasn't given me shit about it. Granted she's a very cool mom. But I would think that if you just keep it in your room then the worse you'll get is some light ribbing which you can just good-naturedly wave off until they stop.
