How can I prove she did this? Although I think she wouldn't lie about if I told someone about it. When I told her that's one of the greatest things that made me fucking anxious and depressed as shit but she answered "That's not the reason!" She's insane. Where do you live? I'm a nurse and I've been working psychiarty in Germany. Here you can literally have someone admitted by telling the police that they threatened to take their life. After 24 hours a judge will have to decide if the person needs further therapy however, and if they do, how much of their freedom must be taken away from them to guarantee their security. Don't know about the regulations elsewhere though.

how I got my parents to stop doing that was coming back from school and saying "hey mom today we were learning about pervous cases of domestic violence in english today and were writing an essay on it" then what you want to do is list off a bunch of made up child abuse cases that sound VERY SIMILAR to what your mom does to you & then list the punishments for these crimes. trust me the look on your mothers face will be priceless :)

Wie geht's? I'm from Finland, an EU country as well. I really hope she would admit her deeds and her mental state. Which is terrible, she cries hysterically daily and I'm still kinda too creeped out to ask her what's wrong. When she dragged me to the balcony I had asked her what's wrong as she was crying. Then she took my hand and said "I'm done, now we're going to jump."

Oh, nice to read that, I'm going on a trip to Scandinavia this summer and my way home will be via Finland, I look forward to it. Sadly, I don't know a single word of Suomi, I would have loved to return greetings in your native tongue. How is your mom's grasp of reality? Does she sometimes say things that are obviously not true, like related to magic or some higher powers that control us? Did she mention suicide during the last year? Is she able to perform the tasks of her daily life without assistance? Does she inflict self-harm? Does she have trouble with alcohol, drugs or meds? Does she still have a tendency towards psychic or physic violence? All these things could be clues that your mom could be in need of immediate help and some could also be reasons to admit her against her will should this be necessary.

I should perhaps ask her about whether she sees or hears thing, etc. And she mentions suicidal tendencies about weekly. "I don't want to live anymore," "I want to die," etc. I really hope she could get committed to a mental institute of any sort. And no, she hasn't been violent now that I'm an adult.

But suicidal tendencies are enough to get her to even consider getting committed, right?

It's possibly schizophrenia. Ask her if she hears voices, deep down she's still your mother and probably trusts you enough to tell you.

If yes, she needs to seek treatment. There's lots of medication out there that'll help immensely.
