I wanna buy a gun. A pistol or something.
I know precisely fuck all about guns, but I want a gun that doesn't scream "I know precisely fuck all about guns".
Any suggestions?

before buying a gun I recommend taking a few courses on the basics of guns and safety. Stop at your local gun shop and ask about them in person as you'll get more viable information from more knowledgeable people. They're pretty cheap compared to the gun itself but they are infinitely more valuable.

Make no mistake, some training is on the agenda. I'm not Jamal over here who buys a gun from a pawn shop and automatically thinks he's Carl fucking Johnson.
Buy a 1911 pistol if u can those look cool.
The first gun i brought was a sks. Anyways i took it home and was looking at it pulled on the bolt and it fell in half. Had to take it back the shop guys hadnt assembled it right with the new stock. Just pick something you want then buy the manual and read up how to strip it and clean it. Only way your gonna learn is by getting guns and learning shit about them.
Buy a glock 19 in 9mm and go to safety classes.
Once you know how it works buy any other gun you want. Use Google if you don't know how a certain gun works.

Go to a shooting range and try out a few firearms to get a taste for what you like.
Also consider your height and frame when buying a gun as this is important when considering ergonomics and caliber.
I would suggest you start with .380 or 9x19 for a caliber, Personally I prefer Glocks over other brands specifically the Glock 17
visit /k/ they will help.

if you really want a pistol, i'd recommend a Glock 19 or equivalent. 9mm ammo is loaded hotter than it used to be, even compared a decade ago, and G19 is reliable and relatively affordable with lots of aftermarket parts.
That said, IMHO every gun owner ought to have the following five:
1. a .22 rifle, bolt-action or semi-automatic, e.g. Ruger 10/22
2. a 12-gauge shotgun, preferably pump, e.g. Mossberg 500, Remington 870, Benelli Nova
3. a semi-automatic pistol, 9mm or .40 S&W, e.g. G19, M&P 9, Sig, or HK if you can afford it,
4. a smaller-caliber centerfire rifle, e.g. .223 Remington, .243 Winchester
5. a larger-caliber centerfire rifle, e.g. .308 Win or 7mm Remington Mag.
