I’m going to a heart failure info session and not sure how to ask questions properly. I’m an introvert who was put on anxiety meds and seem to be working. How do you ask a question properly?
Will green text story, have it written already.
>Caught the flu
>Few days pass by, I have a slightly high BP and pulse
>Talk to a registered nurse over the phone and was told to go to hospital
>Mother and I drive there
>Doctor asks a few questions, family history of heart failure
>Get ECG, EKG, X-ray and blood work done
>Emerge doc came back everything looks normal for someone who has the flu
>Mentions in case symptoms persist for more than a week go to hospital that specialize in cardiac care
>Go home
>Few days later I drop 10-15 pounds and pulse increased to 109 at rest
>Speak to registered nurse over the phone and tell her my pulse
>Says to go to hospital
>Mother and I go for a trip again
>Same tests and more blood work
>Same EKG results, everything was ok heart wise
>This time a urine test as well, I was severely dehydrated from being sick
>Nurses were able to stabilize my pulse with mortin through IV and calmed my fever
>Urine test came back and was severely dehydrated
>Discharged and thought everything will be ok once I hydrate myself
>Few days my heart was palpitating and BP shot right up
>Dropped 20-25 pounds
>Pretty much bed ridden at this point
>Hardly have the energy to go down 2 flights of stairs to call ambulance
>Paramedics came and we left to go to the hospital
>Doctor was so pissed at everyone once she reviewed my medical records
>EKG showed that my EF went down to 25% (60% is for normal people)
>Admitted me into the hospital 5 floors up, where heart failure patients are recovering

I’m not pissed at the student doctors and nurses. The techs who do the testing aren’t students. The cardiologists do however know that a virus attacked my heart. Good indication it’s passed genetically but they don’t know what triggers it.
Shameless self bump

Ask about:
Medication you are on for HF
Level of activity to resume once you go home
Dietary consideration
Fluid restrictions
Following up with doctors
Step 1: do whatever it takes to see a real doctor instead of an "info session."
Step 2: do what that one says.
t. lingering emotional baggage from suiciders who were sent to psychiatric info sessions instead of psychiatric doctors
You should ask enough questions until you are an expert on the topic.
