It's not the lack of, it's the need for that's

It's not the lack of, it's the need for that's holding you back. We have an entire country that understands and agrees higher education is needed for all individuals to advance into a career but instead, they still want to play knowledge like it's a fucking casino; charge you to get in, charge you to play, charge you to use your own money, and then charge (tax) your own earnings.

Maybe just join someone's "non-profit small business" and watch the knowledge gap get bigger by the day.

only if you're going back to study women's studies or something. plus you can always get a part-time job, or evening job. that kind of thing. hell, look into evening courses for your degree.

there are always possibilities.

>only if you're going back to study women's studies or something

wut? Don't listen to this troll, never get an humanity degree they look bad in your CV:
>>
>>18276219
>I have a decent job
Then you don't need a degree unless you're explicitly told you can't move up the ladder/get a raise without one, in which case your employer will most likely pay for the education.

If you have a good job there's no reason to switch from earning money to spending money.

Average college student: 25
https://nces.ed.gov/fastfacts/display.asp?id=372

Older students study better. I went to uni at 16 and have spent the last 3.5 years there. I hate it now.
>>
>>18276224

College is free in my country tho.
>>
>>18276230
learn how to read anon. I was suggesting the OP stay away from the kind of shit.
>>

>Is going to college at 25 degenerate?
No. Older students are better students. They're older, more mature and have a better idea of who they are and what they want. When I was in university, I looked up to my older classmates and had a lot of respect for them.

>Will employers be reluctant to hire me if I graduated when I am 29 years old?
No, anyone would hire a decently put together 29 year old over some 22 year old brat with no life experience any day of the week.
>>
>Is a college degree good to have?
Yes
>Is it necessary in order to make good money?
No
>Do i know people who have succeeded without college degrees?
I know 2 of them. Both are my best friends.
They're both dropouts.

>Is 25 too late to be going to college.

My cousing just got her MBA at 29. She's now going for a Phd in business at a German university.

I think it's maybe a bit retarded, but people do what they want.

Professor writing here.

College isn't just for 18 year olds anymore. Chances are that as much as 25% of the undergrads in whatever school you choose will be your age or higher. And so graduating at 29 will hardly be noticed - if anything, the combination of a degree, life experience and maturity will make you more attractive to employers.

This. I've served on hiring boards. 21-year old dickheads with no idea how the world works get a degree and then want $60k starting? Grow up.

The only thing more hireable is if you join the military for 2 years. Anyone who has performed under fire has infinitely more stress management skills than someone whose only challenge in life is which girl to date rape at the frat Saturday night.

Nobody thinks FEMA is a good idea until a tornado hits their town. Nobody likes unemployment insurance taken out of their check until they get laid off.

Got my associates degree when I was 21, dropped out of college and got a job in my fiend (accounting). Knew not having my BS would hold me back but made decent money.

Took night classes and got my BS when I was 40. It was a grind (wife, kid, full-time job that required travel). Get it done now. 29 isn't a problem and you can stare at the young(er) babes.
>>
>>18276219
25 is nothing there are people who are going back at 35 or even 40 now. Go to community college first and then University cheaper path.
>>
if anyone asks, say you were saving up to pay for college completely out of pocket
Then they'll at least think you're relatively more responsible
>>
If you don't have a degree it's not a bad life decision but it will probably impede your ability on the job market for a few years unless you only take classes part time. Unfortunately most large state universities assume they are getting a huge batch of frat boys and degenerate trust fund kids and don't schedule many classes in the evenings. There are exceptions but it depends on the focus of the school.

My advice is go to a brick and mortar school for the experience and avoid online degree mills. Your major doesn't matter as much as a lot of the insecure 19 year olds on this board insist it does (source: live in a place where it's common to get a white collar job with any degree as long as you have one).
