Dunno if matters all that much, but I heard you're supposed to put it under running room-temperature-ish water, not too cold.
Also aloe vera is supposed to soothe it.
How badly? If just grabbing a hot pan you're fine to just sit there in agony until it heals which will be like 7 days. Get some burn cream?

Yea this. You fucked up with the cold water, now the blister is gonna be big as fuck.
Just put a lotnof salt on the burnt place, and no, i'm not joking. It will sting but it will also prevent from forming blisters. 100% works
Toothpaste is really soothing when applied to burns, is it just a tip of the finger type of thing?

For posterity because you already fucked up:
Run under cold water, NO ICE and obviously not hot water. You want to bring the burn site to a normal temperature and stop the burning. If you can feel it stinging then the area is still burning and won't stop until you reduce it's temperature. Once the stinging stops apply some burn lotion and remember the lessons you learned to stop grabbing hot shit
Lavender ess. Oil & organic aloe. Shit will be gone gone by the next day!
aloe vera my man
I put a big chunk of butter for several minutes. Done this all my life and have zero scars.
