Yes. There's nothing wrong with shutting out people who can't return your feelings. You're just faking it and hurting yourself for her sake and if she asks, give her the low down

NO
Get out. Never, EVER "just be friends,"
If you really are friends, cool, that can work, but "just being friends" has never worked for any human ever.

Yeah you guys are probably right. i've told her before that one of the WORST things you can do to a guy after a rejection is saying that you only "like them as a friend".
i also told myself i would never be that guy if i ever got into this kind of situation.

You've run into one of the big differences between men and women.
Women honestly and innocently believe they can shoot you down and still remain friends, while men don't ever want to see the bitch again.
True in 90% of cases, and neither is "right" or "wrong"

I have had to do it my friend for the sake of my mental health. I asked one girl out she said no and started dating my best friend. I cut contact immediately with both. Another girl made me wait two weeks for an answer. I reckoned it would be a no. She was asking for cigarettes and beer all the time while I sat there waiting. Didn't buy that shit doe. Eventually she saud she was dating someone else the entire time. Dropped her out of my life. Sometimes I just wonder was I destined to be alone.
