What kind of group project requires no collaboration? I had only one group project in college, and we met two or three times at least.

Adding onto what these people have already said, have you not seen these people since the groups were formed? I find it hard to believe that a group project was assigned where the members would have no classes together between the initial assignment date and the due date.
