Things are pretty similar for me... I surround myself with hobbies and passions that I burn out and discard every so often, and the people I see like me would rather isolate themselves than accept somebody can unconditionally care for them.

I guess just always be on the lookout for opportunities, regret is worst when it's something you didn't do.

Streets are meant for walking on. If you see someone you want to talk to go and talk to them, there are three reactions you can get:

1) They completely blow you out
2) They put up with you cause they're too nice but nothing results from it
3) You make a new friend

The importance of doing this is you'll realize there are a lot of people out there just like you who are scared of talking to strangers and if you do it enough and get better at it, you'll end up not hating yourself at 50 when you realize you didn't put effort into your social skills.

It's weird. I have a lot of friends and people who like me, people who are attracted to me, a partner who did everything for me, yet I'm bored and apathic of it all.

The only advisable course of action that minimises the distress caused by being socially isolated/retarded is to get a menial job that isn't too taxing, then start a collecting hobby that will occupy a decent amount of time. I myself have started a gaming collection of a certain system of which I am edging closer and closer to completion but probably never will, in the same way Achilles will never beat the tortoise. It's an ultimately fruitless endeavour even if you do complete it but it's really for speeding up the passage of time and to avoid thinking about your current situation. Also when you go about collecting occasionally you'll run into normies, usually fucking hipsters, who for some reason are impressed by your dedication and/or collection. Savour that crumb of acceptance but DON'T get addicted to it. Acknowledge their interest but don't give them much satisfaction.

If all goes well, you'll die a busy man. Not happy mind you, just someone who was too busy to acknowledge his depression.

A tip I learnt from Dr Steve Brule:
