Because the companies who makes pills realized that curing illness is less profitable than minimalizing symptoms and keeping you on pills forever.

I dont claim there are pills capable of curing mental illneses or high blood pressure, but they dont have any good reason to even research for them since subpar options are more profitable.

I had abilify first and that was working alright but then I had impulses to off myself and they gave me risperdal to flatten my emotions and feelings. Now I'm out of my 9 year long severe depression and don't think I need it anymore but they are very cautious and me too since I don't want to risk getting depressed again.
