Hey /adv/,
Im currently studying in europe doing my masters. I'm about to start my second semester, but i've firmly realized I picked the wrong school and specialization of my field. On top of that, due to my not resuming medication until now (its been years) I've found myself immersed in people that party waaay too much and those in my program have a view of me similar (they do like me though). I'm afraid that this will reinforce my impulsivity and drag me down even though i'm now on meds which largely counteract it.
On top of that, due to my own failings and not being on meds I've let my grades falter.
Further info, my biggest fear is telling my parents whom are funding me (they're very well off though) and wasting a year. I don't have tuition fees whether I stay in my current program or switch and I have been in subsidized housing and would likely do so there as well.

What do yall think /adv/? Is it stupid to switch or should I go for it?

Maybe come clean with your parents, tell them you let your grades slip by partying and you regret it. Maybe they can help you get back on track. Be prepared to endure some parental lecturing.
. Fwiw my nephew got a full ride scholarship but then partied too much. My sister was not pleased. She told him to straighten out or prepare to pay his way through community college.

Switch your friends, not the school.
When you go to a different school, they always incur more coursework from you than you would have to do otherwise.
