Only way to really tell by yourself is based on the location.
If it's the back/midline, it's probably a fissure.
If it's the front/midline, it's a less-likely fissure.
If it's on one of the sides, that aint no fissure.

You might want to go in if it's a bona-fide fissure and not just a roid.
They can become chronic if they aren't treated.
