What do I get a dude I don't know so well for his birthday?
I was invited to a bar for lunch tomorrow to celebrate a birthday + deployment. I don't want to show up empty handed but I don't know what to get him. I don't really know his interests. I know he's an army guy, has cats, likes video games, and tech.
We were on the same team together last semester.
Please advise. I was thinking a fragrance but /fa/ said >>12360495

I've never been to a bar before. How much are drinks usually? I'm not trying to break the bank, I don't even know the guy that well.
I was thinking of buying a bottle somewhere and handing it to him. I think buying a bottle at the bar will cost a stupid amount of $.
Beers $3-8 bucks usually, shots probably $10, liquor and soda $12 ish, cocktails $15+
Yeah dont buy a bottle at the establishment unless ur tryna ball the fuck out... my cheapest bottle service ran me $300
get him a fucking hedgehog
<3
Get him a jar of nice mustard.
Everyone likes nice mustard.

I second the vote for mustard.

Give him red wine with dark chocolate.. they'll cost u 45USD to 200 USD depending on the wine or you can just gift him just chocolates...EVERYONE LOVES CHOCOLATES!!

OP don't do this unless you're trying to fuck him.
Just buy him a drink when you're there. Not being a friend, he wouldn't expect anything more than that. Hell, some friends would only do that much.
You're not a kid anymore; presents are not compulsory. It could also be really inconvenient for him, having to lug around something during the event, or stash it somewhere, etc.
