If there's nothing, why worry? You'll be dead so you won't know and the world goes on all the same. Seems like an Irrational fear to me, if it's affecting you this much, consider taking with a mental health professional.

This answer is about half BS, half serious: it is not completely out of the question that we'll see serious life-extension technology invented in our lifetimes.

Now, it's also FAR from a certainty. And even if we do see it developed, who knows if it'll be widely available. But plenty of smart people take the idea seriously that people who are alive today might live ... no, not forever, but for significantly longer than the longest-lived people do now.

Part of what's scary about death is the CERTAINTY of it. Even if it's unlikely that people in our generation might get to live to 150, 200, or even beyond, it isn't out of the question, and taking away the CERTAINTY takes away a lot of the fear. For me, anyway. I'll *probably* die sometime between ages 75 and 90 like almost everybody else, but it's a comfort that that's not beyond question, even if it's a longshot.

Of course, even crazy sci-fi life extensions just postpone what you're afraid of, but honestly, I think after a couple hundred years of life, almost anybody would be exhausted and the concept of just ... nothing ... would start to seem almost attractive and not terrifying.

The solution to this fear is to stop being a little bitch. If you're asking this question then you're already pretty certain that there's no life after death and therefore you must also logically understand that being dead won't bother you.

Get over it. Grow up. Everyone dies.

Worry about the ramifications of dying when you get there and don't let it ruin your life in between.

The problem with trying to imagine death is that you can't help imagining yourself being alive experiencing death (What would it feel like bing in heaven? What would it feel like being in a coffin? etc.)

But it won't feel like anything, because you won't be there. Death is the end of "you". Death is the complete absence of you.

Im super afraid of death too. I wish to become immortal or move my self-being to a computer and have endless fun of expanding my mind, creating stuff and playing with them.
