Next semester starts my fourth and final year of study , my adviser

i feel like life is pointless nothing anyone does matters i feel like a hopeless nestle of nothing in a tornado of shit

and i keep teling myself im fine im fine but truth is im not i just dont know what to do i spent 5 years locked up alone im still a virgin I have no friends no family as i have lived in my dorm the whole time even over summers

I was 3 years in and had a really even spread across all 3 disciplines, I knew this major was a thing and couldnt thing of anything else to declare so I had to go to one professor from all 3 disciplines and ask for permission to do this, they all had to agree.

You had three professors sign off on your GS petition and one of those three should have explained that in order to be really successful in college, you need educational goals. if its just a bachelors, the degree itself will matter more than the major. Also, rarely do employers run background checks on specific college majors, so if u really wanted to you could just change it according to the job youre applying for if its not a gov job or something. Or just leave the major out completely and explain it if they ask. Just calm the fuck down.

If you can sell yourself in an interview, there isn't any non-technical field that won't consider you. You may not have special training, but you've picked up skills - reading, analysis, report-writing, etc - that are used in almost every job.

In some ways you're better off than a STEM major who is trained for only one field.

So let's say I want to do a master's in an area of science there isn't an undergraduate prep program for, or there isn't an undergraduate major that matches my specific educational goals. The university can still give me an undergraduate degree, but it's in something else.

At the university I work for in Brazil, there was no nursing program. All the students-becoming-professors who built the program have degrees in biology, biomedicine, that sort of thing, because nursing wasn't a profession 30 years ago.

Similarly, if my educational goals include environmental science and anthropology, so like, environmental anthropology (to study climate change), let's say I go to Podunk University and they don't have an environmental anthropology undergraduate major, but I have a scholarship lined up for a master's in it somewhere else, I'll do a GS degree at Podunk and then transfer.

That's why this guy got absolutely fucked by his professors. Who would approve a GS degree for someone without a clearly stated reason and clearly defined goals? He's fucked, he's got to do another year at least either to get an undergraduate major or take a master's degree.
