Have you tried the Pomodoro technique? Might work. It's basically 25 minutes working, 5 minutes break, and so on. There are online timers and probably apps for it too

Mindfulness. You are probably a habitual mind-lurker. Once you train the brain to exist in the present moment and not just ruminate over shit you don't need to, reading becomes a cake walk. And a lack of assertion in real life has probably led you to becoming alienated from your true interests, which has made investing yourself in things you think you like hard because they don't actually interest on a fundamental level but you are convinced they do.

Try using a highlighter as you go. Forces you to be paying attention to the words so that you know what you should be highlighting.

Try speed reading. It's easier to teach yourself than you think. You can look at a word and know what it is without having to read every letter. Try this real quick: get something you need to read, and move your eyes over the words in the sentences at a steady pace. Don't worry about ACTUALLY reading it. Just move the gaze of your eyes over the sentences. Notice how much of the sentence you understood without actually reading? The more you do it, the better you'll get.

I often find myself doing stupid shit to get away from the reading. It sounds autistic as fuck but I often get up in front of a mirror and practice social situations that would never happen to me. I start thinking of stupid shit too, but mostly social situations that have little to no chance of happening to me. Just reciting and rehearsing lines because I feel like roleplaying. I'll try to focus on that.
