If your dad is bald, you will be bald in time too. Blame testosterone and your dna.
You can try to slow it down with shampoos with coffeine, but ultimately you will most likely go bald.

what about other family members such as uncles and such

Who is your dad? Your dad or your uncle? And with whom do you think you share more dna?
Only exception is grandad from both parents side. Then it can be like 50% bald 50% not bald.
But i have found out one thing: only soon to be bald guys and bald guys seeks information on hair loss. So my magic crystal ball predicts future for you, where you are bald.
Sorry anon. At least it is not cancer.
