Is it likely that I will have to take English classes in college while doing a STEM major? I'm an american btw
I'm certainly not interested in wasting time trying to figure out how to execute bullshitting an 800 page essay about nothing.
If you can't communicate effectively, then your STEM degree is next to useless.

But I already speak English and have the ability to demonstrate knowledge as a result

Being able to speak English and being able to communicate effectively are two different things.
Also it wouldn't kill you to be a little more rounded in your education either.

No shit, anon. You'll likely take an English class for a gen ed.

Yes. Every major requires you to have General Education credits. Is it helpful in any way? Depends how good your Essay writing was in high school.
I took AP comp in high school and regret not taking AP lit. Would've saved me hundreds of dollars.

It's literally a 100% chance if your degree is accredited (read: worth at least as much as the paper it's printed on). Bullshitting through essays is a good skill to have, though. It comes up surprisingly often in life.

Yeah, and you'll have to do some kind of physical ed, some history, a humanities or arts class and a bunch of other shit. That's 4 year college.

And the college board certainly isn't interested in which of their mandatory courses you think is a waste of time. Everyone has to do it. Either knuckle your way through it and get your degree or don't. Up to you.
Everyone needs to know how to bullshit at least a few pages of work or conversation. This class is practice for that.

English and the Humanities help develop your ability to critically think and support an argument. Pull your head out of your ass.
