If she has never been on hormonal birth control or hasn't taken it in the last 6 months, it will take at least 1 month - 6 weeks of taking at the same time every day before you're assured the 0.01% chance of pregnancy. This is because the BC has to affect the entire cascade, from the FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) in the brain to the subsequent progesterone release in the ovaries. It ain't magic.

Take plan B, be smarter. Read. Is it really too hard for your GF and you to read?
