I got a ticket the other day for flicking a cigarette butt outside of my car window and it's a $500 citation plus 8 hours community service I'm currently unemployed at the moment but have a job lined up in the next two weeks and I'm supposed to be getting something in the mail for a court date arrival I live below the poverty line if I'm unable to pay the ticket right away will I be jailed? Is there options for negotiation in court? Like doing added hours of community service. If Jailed I'd miss too many days out of the semester to continue my spring semester and it has me worried.
