>enter freshman year of college, no major selected
>choose mechanical engineering end of freshman year, which put me on track to graduate after 5 years total due to choosing major late
>currently in fourth year, 1 year left of college after this and I'm free from this hell hole known as school
>apply to a few amount of summer internships and 1 coop
>only hear back from the coop, they want me to work from may to december taking time off from school
>this will cause me to take an extra year to graduate
>six years total
>if I had applied to more internships, I could have gotten one that only lasts for three months so I don't have to take a semester off
The pay is 28 dollars an hour, do I take the coop and graduate after 6 years when I'm 24, or do I go back to my last internship from last summer which paid 20 dollars an hour but I graduate a year earlier? I suppose the better option is the coop because it's at a very well known company but holy fuck nigga i just want to get my degree and get the FUCK outta here

Experience is experience. Keep working with your current internship and just finish school. Pay shouldn't even be a factor at this point.
It may be a good idea to talk to some alumni and professors to see what they think.

Yeah either way I would have experience on my resume. It's just I don't want to work at the place I did last summer, and I sure as hell wouldn't want to work there full time when I graduate. Going to the co op would let me get my foot in the door of a company I may want to be at when I graduate
28 dollars is not worth paying for an extra year in college, finish your degree before you join the workforce and then make sure that you get paid fairly

I would be taking the same number of courses before I graduate so school wouldn't cost more. However graduating a year later means I'm waiting an extra year before I get paid what a graduated engineer is paid

its still not worth it, why spend your time getting paid highschool diploma money instead of college graduate money?
You're worth more once you have that stupid piece of paper, so the sooner you get it, the better.

Wah bitch

I fucking hate school and want to get the fuck out of here as soon a possible

your life isnt going to be any different after you graduate. learn to be happy no matter your situation or youll never be happy.
>>18137070
I'm definitely happier when I'm working a job during summers than when I'm at school
>>18137075
thats not the same thing as post-school life. you always know youre going to leave soon and go back to school. when youre out youre out. its done

Good that sounds amazing
