Hey /adv/ tomorrow I will start my service as a paramedic. I do not know if any of you entered or are actual paramedics. I do not know if I made the right decision but I am determined to finish it. Even if some see it as "badass" I still feel nervous of what "surprises" await. Any tips in handling the nerves? What I should, and what not should do there? Did I made the right decision joining in since I decided to continue with my turbulent life?
Hey I'm an EMT in ny. Where are you? Why did you decide to go als without BLS years of experience first?
You have done hundreds of hours of rotations right?

Yes. I am in Mexlands.

Then you obviously know your shit, I mean you did pass the medic exam right?
You're an adult, you can handle yourself.

Yep passed the exam and I already have my assigned team. I just do not know if that can actually help me improve myself and my life.
>>18136552
Just do the best you can. How many times have practiced a cardiac arrest, hundreds?
>>18136562
Uff! It was the first thing we made in training once I arrived.

>Any tips in handling the nerves?
Gain experience, then you'll be less nervous.
>What I should, and what not should do there?
No clue. Ask the experienced people you work with and learn as much as you can.
>Did I made the right decision joining in since I decided to continue with my turbulent life?
No clue. We know nothing about you. Nothing in life is a guarantee. Looking for one is a pointless endeavor. Do the best you can. That is the only thing you can do.
