I'm trying to choose between two, soon to be completed apartments, one is on a 14th floor with windows facing west and north, the other is on a 22nd floor facing south. Which apartment should I go for? They pretty much tie in everything else.

Depends on what you prefer really. I've lived in two flats with south facing windows and it was fine until the midsummer sun blasted through for hours and you could have boiled an egg by putting it on a windowsill. Just based on that I'd say north/west windows are better. That sunset bonus is nice too.

I also like sunsets, but I'm thinking there would be a higher ac bill associated with a west facing window.
