Does anyone have a hard time talking to their parents? I think

just don't speak to them unless you have to and if they speak to you, be more of a listener instead of contributing anything needless to the dialogue. that might work, i dunno

Sounds like your mom's not a very maternal women. My mom's the same, I've learned to avoid the mom, son dynamic. She probably sees you more like a family friend than a son

Not really, every person is defferent even if they're moms. Maybe they just think you have to grow up by yourself, maybe they too really want to talk to you and hug you but don't know how... etc... I just think you and OP should talk to your moms.
