You get the experience out of work, the mental fortitude, the stress that you adjust to, etc...

My girlfriend was raised poor, really poor, single mom, no job.

I was raised in a middle class family, comfortable with money, never had issues, parents paid for my expenses when I moved out ,etc...

She is younger than me, she has much better work experience, she has a job that pays twice what I've ever gotten, she is a couple years younger, yet just got accepted into a masters program, and I just started mine.

Secondly, reporting him won't do shit. He'll lose it if he can't prove he's actually trying to get a job etc.

Problem is, autists suck at interviews. Social skills hinder us greatly, and even if we get a job, the real challenge afterwards is keeping it.

Straight up, the autist is the easiest target.
He doesn't have to even do anything wrong, for instance my company needed to reduce headcount - and because I struggle to communicate well with management, I was targeted unfairly and put under undue pressure - they wanted to force me to quit.
This was also an issue I had taken up with one particular manager, but either he ignored it or my poor speaking skills meant that he didn't get the message I was trying to convey.

Had an entire month or trying to sort shit out, throwing emails around to HQ, being investigated, developing ridiculous anxiety and suicidal thoughts each day.

As much as I don't like welfare systems, until there is greater support for agoraphobics and autists (people with poor social skills) to get into and keep their jobs, it's kind of a necessity.
