If you didn't do anything to cause the accident, I don't think you can get in legal trouble just because you didn't pull over and help.

It might fuck with your head, though. I had an almost identical situation when I was like 19 - saw a car run off the road & flip through the air in my rearview mirror, but I was in a hurry, and there was another car in the oncoming lane that must've seen it too, so I didn't stop or call the police.

I still think about it fairly often. I have no idea why I didn't at least call 911. I have no idea what happened to the driver of that car

bruh do you live in the middle of nowhere it will go unnoticed or something lol? Even if so you could have stopped, notified officials, helped the situation and took pictures of the incident to prove to your interviewer why you were late.

It honestly depends on the type of person you are. You're unlikely to get into any legal trouble, if that's what you're mostly worried about, but as the other anon said, it could fuck with you. I saw a man on a bicycle get hit by a car once. It was in a heavy traffic area, other people saw and came running, so I assumed someone else would take care of it and went along my way. Even though I'm 100% positive someone else called an ambulance, I still think about that old man every once in a while over eight years later and feel guilty that I didn't even try to do anything. It has had the effect that now I call the cops immediately any time I see an accident. But I have a massive guilt complex, so ymmv.
