I have recently started dating someone who I was originally only casual with. I ended up really liking him and I'm happy that we're going on dates now and just spending more time together in general.
Sometimes it just feels like there's a lack of conversation, or like it's just not as deep and my ex and I used to go and I want it to go deeper but sometimes I just don't know what to say or how i can make it naturally progress.
Are these feelings normal at the beginning of a relationship or is it a sign that we may not be right for each other?

thats normal. dont rush it though, or feel like you're "falling behind" where you were at any point with your ex. if your last relationship failed, you shouldnt be trying to recreate it. why would you want that? Just enjoy where you're at and try to get closer. don't push too hard, i broke up with my last girlfriend for that same reason, she kept trying too hard and pushing me to go deeper
