Have any of you been in a situation where you are currently employed but looking for a better job?
The current place I am working isn't challenging for me, and all the ego and passive aggressiveness of my co-workers is really getting to me. I know for a fact based on my experience that after working for 2 years at this company that I am able to do a lot more. I got this job a little over 2 months post graduation.
I have my new and updated resume ready but my concern is the jobs I apply for will call my current job, knowing the CEO I will be terminated on the spot if they find out. Please help me /adv/ , will this happen?
They can't fire you for looking without risk of getting into a lawsuit. Why else would they ask about references? Better if the person is currently working with you and doesn't have to remember who you were.

I'd take the route of being honest from the get go about your current situation to any new employer.
