Relationships were both partners are roughly equal (earn roughly the same amount of money, share the chores, take care of the kids) and similar (similar education, similar backgrounds, around the same age, same race) are those which last longer, where people have more sex and where partners are happier.
There are plenty of studies that show this.
I've also personally never seen a relationship where one of the partners was much dominant over the other last happily and long term.

You also make it sound like life was better when women weren't given a choice, when you had to stay with your husband even if he cheated on you, abused you and he treated you like shit because you had no education and no job perspectives.

I'm a woman, I know women get on birth control for their periods, but the consequences of pregnancy are so extreme that you don't need much of a statistical risk to be (subconsciously) worried about the idea. Sure, culture is encouraging men to get more into sex than they (already) are and discouraging women from being interested in sex. But I feel it's a bit unnatural to act like that's an artificial influence (if you are implying that because men were "made" more horny it doesn't really count). Once you start arguing like that everything becomes fluid because the joy of sexuality is by definition not limited to physical stuff. There's always the thrill of being found attractive by someone else, having intimate power over them, breaking down their exterior etc. I don't really see a significant difference between that and the cultural masculinity affirmation men get from being someone who fucks a lot.
Besides I think in this day and age it's conflicting for women. Obviously there's still a much stronger push for them to be selective and treat sex as a sort of prize for the real quality men, but at the same time there's (especially among liberal, wannabe-hippie college girls) a milder and more diffused pressure to be as quick and dirty about sex as men. Eg women who pride themselves on "separating love and sex" etc.

I'm not saying they have less sex, I think the average straight girl (my age at least) has had slightly more sex than her male counterpart just because she has that much more opportunities. But I also think women turn down men much more often and also much more often keep their number down or abstain from sex altogether because of personal principles.
And what's more - women don't look at porn the way men do, women don't have a significant counterpart to strip clubs, women don't send unsolicited pictures of their vaginas to random men they know from seeing them around the campus, women don't get so thirsty that they will leave comments like "I would wade through a sea of glass to suck a fart out of your ass" with an account featuring a picture of their actual face.
