I don't think that was Freud's thesis.

A lot of them are caused by social interaction, which you can argue that sex is a component of.

Overall no though, not most of them, only occasionally. I would argue that the far more important aspect of sex is the sense of acceptance, validation and love that comes from a relationship - and there are obviously lots of very mentally damaging things that can occur through relationships that have nothing to do with sex.

Freud was revolutionary, but his ideas are not verifiable through scientific means.

Also, in science, it's not a matter of what you think. It's more about: Is it verifiable? Most of Freud's theories are non verifiable or have too many variables working together that it is impossible to isolate the right cause.
