There's this girl I volunteer with. She's really cute. I think I should ask her out, but all of my past dates have flaked. Do I even bother? Volunteer group is small. Could be catastrophic if I fail.
Also her father is really protective.

Same as any workplace: don't shit where you eat

asking her out is the metaphorical equivalent to shitting?
>>18101456
It's a figure of speech, you moron.
I Had a friend almost do this last week. Thanks to the anons giving reasons here, I stopped him just in time.
Only thing is, they still have feelings for each other.
Their point is this: It would affect workplace environment, performance, and especially make things awkward in social settings, HR even more so.
Someday, a breakup will happen, and a fallout would occur. It's not a matter of if, but when it would happen, and how severely it would affect everyone else (even the bystanders).
TL:DR, don't do it unless you're a temp, a fast food guy, or work in different areas in the building. Otherwise, you'll fuck up everything at work.

Well I'm leaving the city in a bit so I guess I count as a temp yknow but at the same time this isn't a job it's volunteer stuff but I hear where you're coming from
>>18101459
sorry guy
>>18101467
So basically you want to do it and aren't going to listen to any advice to the contrary. Why are you wasting everyone's time?
>>18101471
Alright hold on there let's not jump the gun here.
I'm just asking for clarifications and justifications of opinions. I'm not just going to listen to something baseless. lay out some logic, guy.
Do it. Its volunteer work. If it gets awkward then get a real fucking job
