Okay so,I've always lived in a small town with very little jobs. So growing up,I never had a job(Not that I didn't try to get one) I moved out of my small town with my brother so we can both attend college. Even though there are many more job opportunities I still haven't been able to get even a fast food job in almost a year and a half. I have a decent amount of volunteer work and kitchen experience on my resume but I am still not even getting a call back from potential employers. Can /adv/ help in any way? I'm not desperate yet,but it's slowly becoming that.
Have one of your friends pretend to be your old employer and put thier number down and make up a job position on your resume

I admit I have thought about doing that a few times, but I would rather at least try to do it legitimately before I resort to that. You wouldn’t happen to have any other ideas?

Dude that's the only way. Especially if you want to do something that isn't fast food. The trick is to put down a job that is vaugely similar to the one you're applying but NOT exactly the same, so they don't expect you to know what your talking about. So if the job you're applying to is like "receptionist at vet clinic" put "professional dog groomer"

Alright then I guess I'm doing that. Thanks for the help.

Be careful. Make sure you let your friend know. And don't be too worried because if you're caught all they'll do is not hire, you'll never be in trouble with the law for something like that
