Realistically (and I do mean this seriously so don't give me a random or exaggerated number/range), how many job applications should I be submitting per day?

I don't feel I'm hitting the amount that I should be despite my full efforts. The time to search and fill out applications takes so damn long. So I want to hear what is a reasonable goal I should aim for.

Also not talking about random jobs. I'm referring to jobs related to a specific field.

Have heard people saying things like "if you're not applying for 10 a day you're not trying" but I dunno. That seems fairly high. Maybe just apply for each and every vaguely appropriate job in that field you see?

And even if you don't have every single qualification try anyway if you think there's a shot.

I been trying to apply for work in the IT field in Australia for about 3.5 years. Diploma, Cisco certifications and not even a single call or email back. I gave up and moved on. But there were periods where i'd apply for about 6 jobs a night. My number of applications was this high because I applied for the same jobs non-stop to no avail. I'd say 10 is plenty. I kept 6 jobs a night as my limit to avoid me going insane and wasting my time on cover letters non-stop. Do it at your own pace but try to keep it realistic. There is no minimum or high just make sure at least 1 gets out there.

I'm off to bed so my replies can't continue. Good luck dude. I was just unlucky don't feel discouraged at all. Just go at a pace you like. 10 just resumes sure. But the cover letter will make you much more employable as proven by some studies (double check this). Try to make a universal resume.

Sorry, not OP. But thanks senpai.

That's really shit especially with how much those certs cost. It's got to be the competition in that field. I hope you're doing good now anon

Lie on your resume. I'm serious

If you want a job in a specific field, then you need to put some time into the application. Quality > quantity. It's also a lot easier to get a job if you know someone
