Is it legal for a judge presiding over a criminal case to revoke bond for contempt of court? One of my friends is facing felony charges, and during the initial hearing, the judge had a very arrogant attitude, and was speaking to him as if he were a young child. My friend spat onto the floor, and the judge immediately revoked his bond with no warning or due process of any sort.

I got a contempt of court charge. I was handcuffed immediately, and given a 30 day sentence, no trial, no courts, no bond, no nothing.
So yeah, I don't think you can bail out of a contempt of court charge.
