No. It's been years, I've talked to many girls and slept with a few, and even "dated" 1 or 2. It hasn't changed how I feel. Most girls I meet barely like me, it seems as if they only want me around as a 'filler' til they find an actual boyfriend.

Start to take notice of thing like if you make a girl genuinely happy. It doesn't have to be huge, just little smiles and points of connection.
Putting some girl on a pedestal from 5 years ago is the act of someone who is self sabotaging.
Take a critical look at this, you worship like a deity some girl you met who didn't like the look of you and did feel the connections translated into real life and you're going to let such a girl ruin your future?
